h Meredyth Hughes, Warmblood breeder and competitive dressage rider:
"Just one weekend gave me so much information. I now feel I have structure to my lungeing method that I can use from my young horses to my more established horses.
It is very exciting to have someone so knowledgeable to learn Schooling-on-the-Ground techniques from that work hand in hand with what I am learning from my dressage instructor.
The training scale follows exactly the same method as the German training scale. Ull's methods really helped with my understanding of communicating with my horse from the ground which also translates to how you communicate with your aids when you are on their back.
I would highly recommend a clinic of Schooling-on-the-Ground for every dressage enthusiast and to all other horse enthusiasts as well!"
h Toni White, dressage rider:
"In 2003 I became disillusioned with the teaching and training that was available in my corner of NSW. When I met Ull Paschen at a dressage day in September of that year I was amazed: Here was exactly the teaching and training I had been looking for! My lovely and spirited Andalusian mare Valentina and I started working with Ull and we have not looked back. Valentina has progressed remarkably and now I have her half brother, Hero, who I bought in January 2005, in training as well. I cannot recommend Schooling-on-the-Ground highly enough as a classical method that not only benefits the horse but the handler as well".
h Penny Ferris, dressage rider:
"Since attending the Schooling-on-the-Ground clinics, the general handling of my horse is far easier and less stressful. His ground manners have improved enormously and his flexion, balance and relaxation have improved 100%, riding him has stopped becoming a daily argument. As well as my riding, I also do Schooling-on-the-Ground as it has, and is improving my horse's performance and behaviour.
I would highly recommend these clinics to anyone who is interested in improving the performance and relationship with their horse. The clinics are filled with a friendly family atmosphere and are truly run by professionals".
h Richard and Wendy Smallwood, trail riders and competitors in stock horse events and led classes:
"We have now attended two clinics of SonG with our two very different horses, a Hanoverian/Appaloosa and an Australian Stock Horse. Although the WB is leading his dressage comp for 2005 he has learnt to relax more under saddle. He is now learning to extend in a more relaxed frame, which puts him into a better mental state and utilises different muscle groups more effectively.
We have also learnt a great deal more about calm control of a very physically strong and athletic horse. The relaxation component has definitely led to better extension and balance in preparation for riding.
Each horse progresses at its own pace within the group setting which enables the participants to watch other horses and their handlers work through the steps of classical training.
We also recommend the school for riders to gain a better understanding of the anatomy of the horse in relation to achieving a free flowing and balanced movement. This is done through individualised instruction. The theoretical component of the school provides a better understanding of classical riding and in-hand ground techniques adopted by all trainers in one form or another to achieve an active and constructive working relationship with their horse".
