Born in Germany, Ull and her husband Karl immigrated in 2003 to Australia where in 2004 they opened the Schooling-on-the-Ground Centre in the Southern Highlands of NSW.
Ull has been teaching Schooling-on-the-Ground in Germany since 2000. There she gained her education in Schooling-on-the-Ground since 1995 with Horst Becker, a renowned instructor for classical-Iberian horse schooling. By following these methods, she has successfully trained her own horses, two Trakehner and two Friesian horses, up to long reining, the "crown" of Schooling-on-the-Ground. In addition she rides and drives her horses.
As a certified carriage driver Ull masters and also teaches the Achenbach method. She acquired her carriage driving badge class IV and class III in Germany in 1996 and 1997 (there is no Australian equivalent). These badges are awarded by the FN, the German body of the FEI.
In July 2006 Ull was accepted as a pupil by one of the best and most dedicated trainers for classical horse training in Europe, Richard Hinrichs, president of the "Institute for Classical Equitation" in Hannover/Germany.
Richard is probably the most popular trainer of classical dressage in Germany today. He has published several books and videos on classical dressage but so far only his "Schooling horses in hand - A Means of Suppling and Collection" has been translated into English.
In three weeks of intensive training Ull worked with high school trained school master stallions in all lateral movements, Piaffe, Passage, A-tempi-changes (flying change at each stride), Spanish Walk and Pesade (rearing), refining her skills in (true) long reining, riding and work in hand, see certificate.
Anxious to constantly deepen her knowledge Ull will surely return to Europe on a regular basis for further lessons with classical horse trainers, so as to pass this knowledge on to her pupils.
